The original plan for this post was to make fun of the NFL’s replacement referees. We were going to feature a hilarious parody of Carly Rae Jepsen’s “Call Me Maybe” about the refs and give you alternatives to watching your team suffer from bad officiating. But then the NFL ruined our plan by bringing the real refs back. Bummer for our creative post, but great for football fans.
Also great for football fans? The matchups this week (find tickets). Atlanta’s offensive juggernaut looks to keep rolling against the Panthers, New England hopes to avoid its first three-game losing streak in nearly a decade, and divisional rivals Philadelphia and the New York Giants square off on Sunday Night.
Still turned off by the referee fiasco and want to take a break from football for a week? We’ve got you covered.
To borrow a line from Zoolander, that Amy Schumer’s so hot right now. Fresh off her hit Comedy Central special, Mostly Sex Stuff, Amy is bringing “Slaughterhouse: Comedy’s Most Lethal Ladies” to the Riviera Casino & Hotel in Las Vegas. As you can imagine from the title of her special, her material can get pretty raunchy. Finding a safe-for-work clip was challenging, but we finally found one. Literally- one. If you want to see what her act is really like, you can easily find it on YouTube- just make sure your headphones are plugged in and your boss isn’t around.
Not in Vegas, but want the experience of clubbing there? Some of the world’s top electronic, house, and dubstep artists will perform in Atlanta this weekend at the CounterPoint Festival (find tickets). Bassnectar, Skrillex, Pretty Lights, AVICII, Steve Angello and M83 will perform. If you’d like a bit of rap with your EDM, you’re in luck- Big Boi (of Outkast) and Wale are also on the bill.
If comedy and music aren’t up your alley, you can always head to your local theater and check out one of this week’s new movies.
We want to hear from you – what do you have planned for this weekend?
