Is everything really bigger in Texas? This weekend’s events in the Lone Star State certainly are!

Front and center is the Austin City Limits Music Festival. Spun off from PBS’ “Austin City Limits” program, the festival brings together over 130 acts from all musical genres. While we wish we were there, we don’t envy the decisions attendees will have to make. Should you watch AVICII or The Black Keys on Friday night? Jack White or Neil Young and Crazy Horse on Saturday? We’re overwhelmed just thinking about those choices. Thankfully, Red Hot Chili Peppers are the sole headliners Sunday night.

But like we said, everything is bigger in Texas, and a 130 artist festival cannot quench the state’s thirst for music. The Dallas-Ft. Worth area has a slew of concerts to choose from this weekend including somebody that you used to know – Gotye, frat rapper Mac Miller, Melissa Etheridge, Rufus Wainwright and Trampled by Turtles.

While the rest of the state is music crazy, Houston steps into the sports spotlight on Sunday night. The Texans look to remain undefeated as they take on the Green Bay Packers (find tickets.) The Cheese Head faithful always travel well, so this should be a hot ticket despite Green Bay’s rough start to the season.

Other hot NFL games include a rematch of last season’s NFC Championship between the New York Giants and San Francisco 49ers (find tickets) and America’s Team, the Dallas Cowboys, visiting the Baltimore Ravens (find tickets). It could be a busy day in the Inner Harbor on Sunday- if the Orioles defeat the New York Yankees tonight, the American League Championship Series (find tickets) will begin in Baltimore this weekend too.

If we didn’t mention your city- don’t fret, there’s still plenty going on this weekend. You can see Argo and Sinister in theaters- a perfect activity for a crisp October evening. We want to make your weekend Eventful, so let us know what type of events you’d like us to preview each week!
