Break out the blankets, the cooler with the wheels on it and your favorite summer attire – festival season is approaching fast. We know, we know – you shoveled snow this morning and the temperature probably hasn’t topped 50 degrees in months. There’s a light at the end of the tunnel! The blossoming of tress, the warm breezes of spring, endless summer days spent by the pool – it’s all going to come sooner than you think.

Need proof? Look no further than the Bonnaroo lineup announcement today. Each June, thousands of die-hard music fans (Bonnaroovians) flock to hot and humid Manchester, Tenn. for a festival rivaled only by Coachella and Lollapalooza. This year (June 13-16), Bonnaroo might top them with headliners Paul McCartney, Tom Petty & The Heartbreakers and Mumford & Sons on the bill. Don’t be fooled though – Bonnaroo doesn’t cater only to the classic and folk-inclined among us – there’s something for everyone.

More into hip-hop and R&B? No problem. R. Kelly, Wu-Tang Clan, Nas, Kendrick Lamar, A$AP Rocky and Macklemore & Ryan Lewis could headline a festival on their own. Too cool for school? You can maintain your indie hipster cred by checking out Grizzly Bear, Animal Collective, Beach House, Matt & Kim and Dirty Projectors. Not even a music fan? That’s ok too. Daniel Tosh and Mike Birbiglia will be holding court at the comedy stage.

Can’t make it to Tennessee? Don’t sweat it. The Firefly Music Festival returns to Dover, Del. the following week (June 21-23) with a similar lineup, Tom Petty will headline his second festival in two weeks along with Red Hot Chili Peppers, Vampire Weekend, MGMT and Dispatch among others. Don’t forget about Governors Ball, Roots Picnic and Stagecoach– these festivals already announced their lineups.

This is shaping up to be a very exciting festival season – we’re just waiting on you, Lollapalooza! Who do you want to see on the bill at the annual Chicago extravaganza?
