If you could switch lives with any celebrity, whom would you choose? Kenny Chesney probably wouldn’t be the first name on your list, but take a closer look. The country singer lives part time in the Virgin Islands and has made a career of his “No shirt, no shoes, no problem” mantra. He writes music when the inspiration strikes him and hears adoring sold-out crowds sing it back to him across the country. Not a bad life, eh?

Lucky for country fans, Chesney always seems to be inspired. The prolific songwriter released his fourteenth (!) studio album, Life On A Rock, today. Chesney fans will immediately recognize the familiar – the lively lead single “Pirate Flag” that will find its place amongst his other smash hits – but also they’ll also notice some departures. Guest appearances from Willie Nelson and The Wailers (of Bob Marley fame) give the record a mellow, nostalgic feel. Life On A Rock definitely accomplishes the ultimate goal of any Chesney record – it provides an escape.

If the albums are an escape, then his tours are a celebration. Chesney is no stranger to playing massive stadiums, so be prepared to party with 50,000 of your closest friends. From the first brats on the grill at the tailgate to the last song of the encore, his concerts are the highlight of the summer for country fans. Dust off your cowboy hat, unearth your boots and find your best plaid shirt/cutoff jeans combo because he is once again hitting the road this summer for the No Shoes Nation tour. From May through August, he’s bringing the tropical party to over 30 cities with support (at selected events) from the Zac Brown Band, Eric Church, the Eli Young Band and Kacey Musgraves. Is the party hitting your city? Check out tour dates at Eventful to find out!
