Over the last 20 years, the Backstreet Boys have had unprecedented success – they are the first group since Sade to have their first nine albums reach the top 100 on the Billboard 200, and the only boy band to ever do so. In May of 2013, the group began their 20th anniversary tour officially titled In A World Like This Tour, which took them around the world, and just ended in July 2014.
This power couple has come a long way from where they started out. Beyonce Knowles started as a member of the Grammy-winning female R&B group Destiny’s Child. After debuting her first solo album in June 2003, Beyonce has continued on a path of success and ranked #1 on Forbes Celebrity 100 list. Shawn Corey Carter, known by his stage name Jay-Z, is one of the world’s best-selling artists of all time, and holds the record for most number one albums by a solo artist on the Billboard 200 with 13. Beyonce and Jay-Z co-headlined the On The Run Tour – a twenty-one show tour through North America with the final two shows in Paris, France.
The Black Keys is made up of childhood friends Dan Auerbach and Patrick Carney. They began recording music in Carney’s basement, and went through multiple record labels before hitting the big time. The video for Tighten Up, off their sixth studio album Brothers, won the 2010 MTV Video Music Award for Breakthrough Video, and at the 53rd Grammy Awards, Brothers and its songs won awards in three of the five categories they were nominated in. Their current single, Turn Blue, debuted at number one in the U.S. and Australia.
Peter Gene Hernandez, professionally known by his stage name Bruno Mars, is an American singer-songwriter, record producer, voice actor, and choreographer. Mars had an unsuccessful stint with Motown Records, but later signed with Atlantic Records in 2009. His debut studio album, Doo-Wops & Hooligans was nominated for seven Grammy Awards, winning “Best Pop Vocal Performance for Just the Way You Are. Most recently, Mars’ performance at the Super Bowl XLVIII Halftime Show was the most watched Super Bowl Halftime Show in the history of the Super Bowl, drawing record ratings of 115.3 million viewers.
