New Feature: Image Add/Delete

Those of you who have been adding events to EVDB may have noticed a new feature appeared this past week: the ability to add or delete an image for an event.

Here's how it works. First, sign in and create a new event using the "New Event" feature. Then, once you've saved the new event and are viewing the event's detail page, note that the Image box now has an "upload" link. This link only appears if you are the creator of the event.

Once you've clicked "upload", you should see a little popup box with three buttons, Choose File, Cancel, and Upload Image:

Click "Choose File". Your browser will pop open a dialog box for you to browse your local disk drive and find the image file you wish to upload. You should use a JPEG or GIF image. Once you've selected the file from your browser, you'll see the file name reflected in the display as such:

If the filename shown is the one you want, click "Upload Image". Give the file time to upload. It may take a while depending on the speed of your Internet connection and the size of the file (the smaller the better!). Recommended image dimensions: 130 wide, 130 to 200 high.

Once the file is uploaded, you should see the browser update the event page you're on, with the image appearing!

At this point look for a "Delete image" link under "Event owner tools" in case you need to delete the image and start over.
