A Chicago High School Rolls Out the Red Carpet for the Premiere of "Go For It!"

Nearly 600 high schools across the nation competed to win the Red Carpet Premiere of Go For It! and Roberto Clemente Community Academy High School in Chicago came out on top. The competition, hosted by Eventful and Pantelion Films, empowered students to bring the cast and premiere of the film to their school.

The film is a Hip Hop dance drama that follows Carmen, a young woman living in Chicago, who struggles to overcome her fears and follow her dream to be a dancer.

The event was a huge success, with attendance by Director Carmen Marron and cast members including Aimee Garcia and Gina Rodriguez to mention a few!

Eventful CEO Speaking in LA This Week And Next Week

This past Monday May 2 our CEO, Jordan Glazier, was in Los Angeles to participate in the Variety Entertainment Technology Summit. He took part in an Advertising & Marketing Roundtable entitled “What Are the Secrets to Social Media Campaign Success”? Other participants included David Lang from Mindshare Entertainment, Arnie Gullov-Singh from Ad.ly, David Eastman from JWT, Manny Anekal from Zynga, and Vince Brody from thisMoment. They had a great discussion about what goes into a great social media campaign, how TV & Film companies use social media, and how consumer product companies might integrate into those campaigns.

Jordan will be back in Los Angeles TODAY (THURSDAY) MAY 5 to participate in Digital Hollywood’s “Marketing Primetime Hollywood Content” panel. The discussion will focus on the various digital, social and mobile media that are now essential to building audience, buzz and engagement for Hollywood content. Ratings and CPM’s are old; exciting, dynamic content, engagement and buzz are new! Panelists will give an overview of the technological and business issues around advertising, promotion and marketing content through digital platforms—both as a complement to traditional media, and as a standalone means for reaching and engaging young, critical audiences. Other panelists include Eric Litman from Medialets, Sheigh Crabtree from Perfect Market, Jonathan Green from Trigger, Dan Pellegrino from Rise Interactive, and Kai Buehler from mobile messaging solutions (mms).

If you happen to be in the LA area, drop by the Ritz Carlton Hotel in Marina Del Rey and check it out! They’ll be in the Salon 1 Room from 12:50-2:00pm.

Next week on TUESDAY MAY 10, Jordan will be at the NARM 2011 Music Business Convention to take part in “The New World” panel. This discussion will be focusing on the many options that music artists now have to develop their careers outside of traditional channels. They will dive into topics such as fan-funded albums, the power of film and TV, what analytics actually mean, where the money is now, the new role of publishers, and social media marketing/social commerce strategies. Others panelists will include Bryan Calhoun from SoundExchange, Michael Closter from Reach Global Music Publishing, Eric Garland from BigChampagne, Tracy McKnight from Lionsgate, Tom Sarig from Crowdbands.com, and Ariel Wada from CommerceSocial.

If you happen to be in the LA area, drop by the Los Angeles Hyatt Regency Century Plaza and check it out! The panel will take place from 4:00-5:00pm.
