There are some names that are associated with great things. People hear the name Monet and they thing of beautiful paintings. Or when Carlos Santana’s name comes up, people think of amazing guitar solos. Well, the same goes for Kevin Hart. The mention of his name instantly makes people laugh. Because he’s hilarious. And he’s EVERYWHERE these days!

Including basketball. Hart is a BIG basketball fan which is humorous in itself as he peaks at a modest 5’2″. In his comedy specials, he regularly refers to his days on the high school varsity squad. So, it makes sense that he appeared in Air Jordan commercials alongsideDwayne Wade in 2010. Hart also earned the MVP title of the 2012 NBA All-Star celebrity Game in Orlando – despite being ejected in the fourth quarter for arguing a call and throwing his jersey and shoes around the court.

Hart isn’t focusing on basketball, however.  In the past 10 years, he has acted in over 20 films (including such hits as The 40 Year Old Virgin and Little Fockers) and guest starred on some huge TV shows (like Modern Family) AND starred in three stand-up TV specials for Comedy Central. Hart’s most recent comedy special – Laugh at My Pain – may have been the final element in making him a household name.  One critic said of the film, “…it’s his gimlet-eyed take on his own rather unfunny troubles – a drug-addict father, a recently deceased mother, a divorce – that mark him as a funnyman worthy of attention.” It’s safe to say that his is a career on the rise. As further proof, it’s nearly impossible to get tickets for any of Kevin Hart’s tour dates. He’s on the road right now in the middle of a US tour sending audience members into laugh-riots with his new material. Kevin Hart is a performer that manages to speak honestly about the goods and bads of his life. That honesty paired with the the creative way he approaches his storytelling is what keeps his fans coming back. During his 90-city Laugh at My Pain tour in 2011, he was the number one comedian on Ticketmaster.  And in February 2011 Hart sold out the Nokia Theater two nights in a row breaking Eddie Murphy’s longstanding record. If that’s any sort of indicator of how this tour is shaping up, fans of comedy won’t want to miss it! To put it simply, Kevin hearts comedy and we heart him for it.
