      Calm the mind and develop Inner Peace. This program incorporates principles of both Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Mindfulness Training and is designed for those who are suffering symptoms of stress, anxiety and or depression. This is a 4 week Course:  Wednesdays of 12, 19, 26 June and concludes 3 July 2019. 7pm to 8.30pm Whether you are a complete beginner or an experienced practitioner, this course will teach you what mindfulness is and what it isn’t. You will learn to be present, sharpen your focus, gain deeper self-awareness, be kinder to yourself in day-to-day living, and see this transform into your personal and professional life. Each week is designed to give you a deeper understanding of how to manage the negative automatic thinking patterns and a more accepting and compassionate relationship to your internal and external experiences. It also involves many guided exercises and practices to give you the skills to self manage and reduce down your symptoms so you can respond to stressful situations and challenges in a more effective way to live a calm centred life. Who will find this course useful? People who want to: Discover how Mindfulness can help bring calmness and peace to their life. Learn skills on managing their Anxiety and/or Depression episodes. Learn how to actually Meditate anywhere, anytime and develop it into a daily practice. Develop new ways to respond to unwanted thoughts and feelings, including judgments and criticism. Experience a range of different Meditations. Learn how to be fully present in the here and now. Improve their sleeping habits. Learn how to use Mindfulness to manage challenges. ** Many people can feel alone and disconnected when experiencing overwhelming Anxiety or Depression. So to help you feel secure, expect a safe, non-judgemental and supportive space where you can choose to either connect with others and share your experiences or just enjoy the opportunity to learn, relax and enjoy each session. This Course is delivered by a health professional, Julie McDonald and are always taught with compassion, fun, engagement and wisdom from her 35 years of personal practice of meditation, mindfulness and as a practitioner. For further information on Julie, is:   Terms & Conditions The experiential nature of this course means that it is not suitable for those who are severely depressed, anxious or in the midst of particularly challenging circumstances. This course is designed as adult education classes rather than group therapy, and do not constitute any form of diagnosis or treatment. It is recommended that you do not take the course at a time that you know you will be extremely busy (e.g. moving house), if you have gone through a recent bereavement or trauma, or if you are struggling with severe anxiety or depression. If you are on medication for anxiety or depression, it is strongly advised that you do not reduce dosage during the course, and that you let your GP, psychiatrist or psychologist know that you will be taking the course.
