      Ag at Night - Homesteading in Florida

      Over a hundred years ago it wasn’t so easy to run up to the store for life’s necessities. On Wednesday, May 29, 2019 from 7:00 - 9:00 PM, join us for Homesteading in Florida. Try your hand at homestead necessities like making butter and “cow milking." Play the family games that were popular on the homestead. Learn how homesteaders used plants to make rope with Manatee County Natural Resources. Sunshine Canning will demo how homesteaders preserved their crops. Have a go at weaving and taste pure cane syrup from Ambler Farms. Learn how they turn sugar cane into this delicious syrup. Lite bites will be provided.  Ag at Night is a unique experience for adults only (18+). This NEW 4 part programming series focuses on fun topics related to agriculture historically and today. Guests will experience hands on activities, food and drink tastings, demonstrations, and more!  Tickets are $8 for members*, $10 in advance, or $15 at the door.
