More than 600 kids showed up for the audition. Four shined the brightest. They are, in no particular order, Prodigy, Princeton, Roc Royal and Ray Ray. And they are Mindless Behavior!
The group was put together by the same labels, songwriters and choreographers that have worked with such superstars as Lady Gaga, Timbaland and Beyonce. So the right people were certainly involved in the making of this pop supergroup. But it always takes more than just the right people behind the scenes to create such a success. It requires chemistry between the guys in the group. No problem there! “We clicked from the first day we met because we all love music and performing. On stage, we go all out,” said Princeton about the group. That could be because each member brings his own expertise to the collaboration. Ray Ray picked up his athletic-yet-street style of dance from years of training with some of the industry greats, Roc Royal is the strongest rapper in the group since his passion for hip hop started at a very young ate. Princeton came to the group already familiar with the camera and performing due to his child acting in commercials for Skechers, McDonalds, and Nike as well as in music videos. And Prodigy brought his natural dance and vocal skills to strengthen the group. Each member of Mindless Behavior has a role and each does his better than anyone else around!
A lot of very influential people have a lot of faith in Mindless Behavior. As much is apparent in the amount of effort that went into creating this group. It was two full years of rehearsing before a single note was recorded. Then they emerged seemingly already on top opening for Backstreet Boys and Justin Bieber. But, they still had to earn their audiences – and they did so by living up to their band name and staying genuine to themselves. “Anybody can be mindless,” explained Ray Ray. “It doesn’t matter if you’re two-years-old or eighty-two-years-old. Be yourself. Love who you are and love what you do, no matter what it is. That makes you mindless.”
No expense was spared when putting together the look, sound and style of this group. That much is apparent in the video for their huge hit “Hello.”
