Volunteer at an Animal Farm Sanctuary in the NY Finger Lakes (2 People)

Participate in a good cause by volunteering at a farm animal sanctuary, that is home to more than 500 rescue animals. We'll be performing chores around the farm, so come prepared to work hard and get a little dirty! Saturday, June 8th will focus on volunteering and the afternoon will end with a farm tour and plenty of time to meet the sanctuary residents. Then on Sunday, you're free to roam around the Finger Lakes...From horseback riding, to hiking, to sightseeing waterfalls, to kayaking, to biking, to wine tasting, the possibilities are endless. I also included plenty of ideas at the bottom of this page to get you started. Travel Package Includes: Van transportation: New York City to Watkins Glen Round Trip, as well as local shuttle drop offs/pick ups once we reach the destination. 2 Night Stay for 2 people at the Savannah House Wine Country Inn & Cottage, located right on Seneca Lake and close to the vineyards on the Seneca Lake Wine Trail. This is perfect for outdoor enthusiasts, looking for a weekend escape. 3 Meals per person: 2 Breakfasts, 1 Lunch Volunteer at Farm Sanctuary, tour the premises, and attend their Volunteer Work Party, where a vegan potluck lunch will be served (I will bring a catered dish for our group). Additional Information: Wear comfortable clothing that you don't mind getting dirty, such as old jeans and T-shirts. Out of respect for the organization's mission, please refrain from wearing clothing derived from an animal (such as fur, leather, silk, wool, etc.) while at the Farm Sanctuary. Bring old sneakers or work boots to work on the farm. Work gloves are optional. Farm Sanctuary provides work gloves to volunteers, but feel free to bring your own if you have a favorite pair or in case Farm Sanctuary runs out of supply. Even though it will be June, the weather is unpredictable this time of year. Please bring appropriate clothing for this weather. You will be required to sign a liability waiver for the Farm Sanctuary and All Paws on Tour LLC. There is a minimum age restriction of 12 years old to volunteer at Farm Sanctuary, due to the nature of the volunteering involved. Anyone under the age of 18 will need to sign a form and be accompanied by an adult at all times while at Farm Sanctuary.  Please contact if you would like to bring a child under the age of 12 on the trip. As long as a chaperone stays with the child at all times, there are plenty of kid-friendly activities to explore in the NY Finger Lakes. Please note that transportation would not be included if you choose to find an alternative activity on Saturday, June 8th. All Paws on Tour can assist in arranging alternative activities or taxi services if interested.  Things to do in the Area: Hike the Gorge Trail and Indian Trail Loop in Watkins Glen State Park. The Trail is 2.4 miles long and moderately rated with steep, stoned stairs. You will see lot's of gorgeous waterfalls - 19 of them!
