      Al Qattara Arts Centre Workshops 2019

      The Al Qattara Arts Centre offers a series of workshops and courses open to the entire family, giving art enthusiasts a chance to immerse themselves in the creative arts scene.

      Running monthly and organised by the Department of Culture and Tourism - Abu Dhabi, the courses cater to both adults and children. It aims to teach the basics of technical skills painting, calligraphy, mosaic, sculpture, photography, 3D drawing, and traditional handicrafts.

      The workshops will feature:

      - Adult Workshops

      Painting and Drawing
      Every Sunday and Tuesday, 10:00 AM to 1:00 PM and 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM
      Every Thursday and Saturday, 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM
      Teacher: Ali Hammad
      Fees: 300 AED

      Arabic Calligraphy
      Every Sunday and Tuesday, 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM
      Teacher: Nabil Al Ghanem
      Fees: 300 AED

      - Workshops for children ages 6 to 13

      Painting and Drawing
      Every Sunday to Tuesday, 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM
      Every Wednesday to Saturday, 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM

      Pottery

      The restored centre, which maintains a blend of traditional architecture with state-of-the-art facilities, features a dedicated dry studio for music classes and handicrafts, a wet studio for drawing and painting, a fully-equipped pottery studio, a digital room suitable for photography and computer classes, a spacious calligraphy studio as well as an exhibition hall, cafe and library.

      Based in a renovated fort, the Al Qattara Arts Centre is a first of its kind in Al Ain, providing the city’s 400,000 residents a long-overdue opportunity to explore a variety of artistic avenues.
