      Organizational Strategies for Addressing Vicarious Trauma     Vicarious trauma is starting to be talked about more in the social service field, and yet, many organizations struggle to adequately address it. When it isn’t addressed, it can lead to exhaustion, burnout, absence from work, premature departure from the organization, and less effective service delivery for youth and families. This training is designed to be interactive and reflective. The training will include some large group discussions, lecture, and reflective journaling. Participants will learn about vicarious trauma within organizations, strategies to mitigate vicarious trauma within their teams, and strategies to build resilient employees.   Course Learning Outcomes Describe the vicarious trauma they have experienced Identify at least two ways vicarious trauma has impacted their team and service delivery Identify at least two strategies for address vicarious trauma amongst their team Explain at least one strategy for leading their team from a trauma-informed and strength-based perspective About the Instructor Nicole Klasey, Psy.D. has worked in residential treatment for 13 years. She has consulted with agencies on trauma-informed care, programming for commercially sexually exploited children, and leadership development. She has authored staff development curriculum and has served as an expert witness in court trials. Nicole was recently awarded the State of California Senate Certificate of Recognition by Senator Joel Anderson. She also provides clinical supervision at a sexual assault crisis center in Los Angeles     CONTINUING EDUCATION MFTs, LCSWs, LPCCs, & LEPs: Casa Pacifica (Provider #: 016190) is approved by the California Association of Marriage and Family Therapist to sponsor continuing education for LMFT's, LSCW's , LPCC's and LEP's. Casa Pacifica maintains responsibility for the program and all its content (6 hours). CAADE: Provider approved by the California Association for Alcohol and Drug Educators, Provider #; CP20 860 C 1120 for 6 contact hours. CYC-P: This course meets the qualifications for 6 hours of continuing education credit for Child and Youth Care Professionals (CYC-P) as required by the Child and Youth Care Certification Board.
