      Join us this season for a new set of topics in the Rotary Park Gardening Series.  You'll learn great gardening tips from knowledgeable presenters to help you get started on a new project, help you increase your success with your current garden and/or ease your work with landscape maintenance--all the while being Florida Friendly! October 11           Homeowners Guide to Keeping Our Waterways Clean     Water Quality in SW Florida--what are Red Tide and Blue/Green Algae?  Is it normal?  Can it be prevented?  Is it dangerous to my health?  Come listen to the expert:  Dr. Greg Tolley, FGCU Professor of Marine Sciences, to get answers to all your questions and learn what you can do to help. October 25           Garden Tool Selection & Maintenance     Master Gardeners will demonstrate their favorite gardening tools and provide information on the best ergonomic tools for those with physical challenges.  Jeremy Peterson, from Cape Coral Family Hardware, will teach the best way to care for your tools and keep them working properly. November 8          Container Gardening      Do you prefer your flowers in pots?     Is your yard too small for gardens?  Want some ideas for planters to brighten your lanai area?  Debbie Hughes, Master Gardener and Horticulturist at the Edison Estates, will present ideas on planting eye catching arrangements in various containers. November 22        Florida Rain Gardens     What in the world is a rain garden?  Learn just what they are and their benefits in your landscape from Tom Becker, Collier County Extension Agent.  He will describe how rain gardens can solve your water runoff issues and show you different styles to choose from for problem solving in your yard. December 6          Orchid Growing 101     Do you admire the many beautiful species of orchids but think they are too difficult to grow?  John Hampton from the SW Florida Orchid Society will speak on the basics and get you started on successful orchid gardening.
