      Apollo 50th Anniversary Event at the South Carolina State Museum

      To mark the 50th anniversary of the Apollo 11 Moon Landing the South Carolina State Museum presents a new exhibition charting the history of NASA’s Apollo program and South Carolina’s role in lunar exploration. A private movie screening of Chasing the Moon will be held starting at 9 AM. Following the movie, girls will meet Apollo 16 astronaut, Charles Duke, who grew up in Lancaster, SC and hear him speak about his experience with the Apollo program. Following the special program, girls can explore the museum and participate in Girl Scout Badge activities and Creation Stations. Girls and accompanying adults can enjoy the museum during this special event from 9 AM to 4 PM at no cost thanks to our Partnership with the South Carolina State Museum.
