      Norm Brecke - storyteller/musician

On Friday, September 27 at 6:30 PM the 5th annual Dallas Storyteller Festival, “It’s Raining Stories,” moves to the Lodge at the Dallas Retirement Village, 249 Jasper Street. This year’s featured performer for this show is storyteller/musician Norm Brecke. This free event is open to the general public. Norm’s extensive repertoire includes traditional tales, personal narratives, historical tales, and stories in song. Norm is a great storyteller with perfect comic timing. He sucks you in to his tales and then has you join in with a song or two. Before becoming a full-time storyteller, he was an award-winning teacher who told stories daily in his classroom and taught storytelling skills to students after school. He’s been a featured teller at the Art of the Story (2017), and Stone Soup (2018) Storytelling Festivals. Norm proudly narrated for the Seattle Symphony (2012), told at Seattle Art Museum (2014), and at the National Storytelling Networks’ Summit (2017 & 2018). This free program is hosted by The Dallas Public Library and funded by the Oregon Community Foundation and the Friends of the Dallas Library.
