      Buffalo Romeo celebrates 5 Years

Buffalo Romeo's Fifth Birthday A sit-down concert (dancing and carrying on encouraged) at Tsunami Books! Having played hundreds of winery and brewpub shows over the past five years, Lea Jones and Keenan Dorn are thrilled to offer an unfiltered dose of their electrifying "Adventures in Americana" up close and personal in a sit down concert at Tsunami Books in South Eugene, on Saturday, August 10.Tsunami Books is a TOP local acoustic music venue in the area (that some folks still know nothing about). Come on in and find out what Tsunami has to offer! ADVENTURES IN AMERICANA "You sound like more than two guys up there!" (quotes from quite a few more than two new fans) Buffalo Romeo has developed a style and sound that only comes from years of performing together. They share a love for guitar interplay, vocal harmonies, and energetic presentations of music; their "adventuring" covers a lot of stylistic ground. The lads cover numbers from the greats like Greg Brown, Marty Robbins, John Prine, Bonnie Raitt, Michelle Shocked, Mary Chapin Carpenter, Los Lobos, David Byrne, Rodney Crowell, the Glimmer Twins, and Willie Nelson. A dozen or so of Lea's award-winning* original tunes round out the set list. The evening will feature both pure Acoustic and Acoustic/Electric music.  Both Jones and Dorn sing like birds. Johnny Etheredge dubbed Lea Jones "one of Oregon's finest musicians," while jazz great Mike Denny tagged Keenan Dorn as "a virtuoso." Audiences dig the repertoire, the obvious FUN the boys have onstage, and especially Keenan's visual entertainment factor (you just have to see it). These days, Keenan plays a mean sea foam green telecaster, totes a sweet Laravie acoustic, and blows us alll away on the new family "mandolar," a twelve string guitar on a mandola body. Lea Jones slings his trusty blunderbuss Taylor 810, which has miles on it, and he sings a mean Jerry Jeff.Lea's Tunes* 1988/89 Portland Music Assoc (Best Latin, Best Bluegrass, Best Folk, Top 3 overall) "Falling in Love," "Feels Like Love to Me," and "Parking Lot"* 2004 Top 10 Nationally, New Song Festival - "Four More Years"* 2013 Best of Eugene (KRVM) - "If It Ain't About Love" * 2019 Best of Eugene (KRVM) - "Unsafe at Any Speed" Notable: *In 1986, Lea stood in Asleep at the Wheel's tour bus, making small talk with Ray Benson. You can hear/see Buffalo Romeo online at August 10 at Tsunami Books! Admission is $5-$20 (sliding scale, with no one turned away). RESERVATIONS - call Tsunami Books at (541) 345-8986. DOORS OPEN at 6:00 PM and the music starts no later than 6:30. Buffalo Romeo can be contacted at
