2019 PhD Day Groningen
The PhD Day is an annual event organized in Groningen for PhDs and Research Master students to broaden their research and career perspectives. After last year's success, the PhD Day 2019 is going to be held once again at De Oosterpoort, with keynote lectures from renowned speakers such as Dr. Heleen de Coninck, internationally recognized for her studies in societal and environmental problem of CLIMATE CHANGE; Prof. Dr. Ad Vingerhoets, famous for his scientific work in HUMAN CRYING. A career fair will be present at the venue all day long, where participants will have the chance to meet companies' representatives and get to know more about future job opportunities. At the end of the day, everyone will be welcome to stay at De Oosterpoort, where an indoor mini-festival will take place with art performances, live music and food & drinks stands all around. The day program starts from 9am till 5pm, and the festival starts from 18pm till midnight. Mark your calendar for Friday 20th of September, and join us for this inspiring and unforgettable event! FAQs Are food and drinks included in the ticket? Yes. Lunch, Dinner and 1 drink are included in the ticket. How can I contact the organizer with any questions? Yes, Master Research students, especially those finding themselves at the end of their studies, are very welcome to attend the event. Do I need to print my ticket? No, you can enter the venue using the e-ticket on your smartphone or tablet (shouldn’t you have a suitable device, then you can print your PDF ticket). Do I get reimbursement? If you are a PhD from the University of Groningen, you might be reimbursed. You should ask the department that is responsible for reimbursement in your faculty. Where can I find the program? You can follow our program updates via social media and our website: https://phd-day.nl/ I have subscribed/registered but I changed my mind, can I get a refund? Unfortunately, since the 6th of September it is impossible for us to refund tickets. How can I volunteer? Yes! As a volunteer, you'll help organize a section of our event. Register for the event in the regular way, during the procedure there will be an option to sign up as a volunteer. We will select the volunteers at the end of August/beginning of September. The ticket price of selected volunteers will be reimbursed and they will earn 2 ECTS.* (ECT´s for this year might still change). Can I earn any credits? With just participating in the PhD Day you earn 1 ECTS* (check with your own institution to be sure)As a volunteer during the day you earn 2 ECTS* (check with your own institution to be sure)
