      Held in Newport, Rhode Island's scenic Fort Adams State Park, the Newport Folk Festival has hosted some of the most legendary musicians and live performances of the past century. From Joan Baez's surprise performance at the inaugural festival, to the Electric Dylan scandal, to Johnny Cash's performances in the 60s, there's not shortage of history at the Newport Folk Festival.

      While the festival honors the pioneers of the folk and bluegrass genre, it also features some of the most eclectic and original acts in modern music, including The Avett Brothers, The Decembrists, and My Morning Jacket. Tradition and improvisation collide in beautiful harmony to present one of the most astounding musical experiences in the country.

      The 2017 Newport Folk Festival included appearances by Fleet Foxes, Wilco, Regina Spektor, The Avett Brothers, Jim James, Ben Gibbard, Offa Rex, Nancy and Beth, John Prine, Dr. Dog, Drive-By Truckers, Billy Bragg, Joe Henry, and many more.

      The 2016 Newport Folk Festival included appearances by Flight of the Chonchords, The Alabama Shakes, Patti Smith, Brett Dennen, Father John Misty, Norah Jones, Elvis Costello, Edward Sharpe & The Magnetic Zeroes, and many more.

      The 2015 Newport Folk Festival included acts like Roger Waters, The Decemberists, '65 Revisited, Sufjan Stevens, Hozier, Tallest Man on Earth, Brandi Carlile, Shakey Graves, Laura Marling, and many more.
