Managing Vicarious Trauma through Trust and Compassion: Our Ethical Responsibility

Managing Vicarious Trauma through Trust and Compassion: Our Ethical Responsibility Jennifer Wolfe-Hagstrom, LICSW Registration starts at 12:30, workshop starts at 12:45 and ends at 5:00 pm This workshop will cultivate space to hold participants with importance, care, and trust while teaching methods to honor self-care within our work in an effort to reduce burnout and compassion-fatigue. Not only is self-care necessary for the sake of the practitioner, it is also our ethical responsibility to ensure we are able to provide best care to our clients. Participants will be led through curriculum integrating clinical interventions related to increased self-care, self-trust, and self-compassion. Interventions include: mindfulness, strength-based/positive psychology, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, grounding techniques, group processing, and creative expression. This is a hands-on, experiential workshop where participants will be able to learn, practice, reflect, and leave with concrete tools to use in their ongoing work. Participants will be encouraged to trust themselves enough to know what they need and have the courage to give themselves what they need no matter what might get in the way. About the Presenter: Jennifer’s clinical work has included developing and implementing DBT programs at outpatient clinics, providing group, individual, and family therapy to people who have experienced trauma ages 4-65 where she integrates Animal Assisted Therapy, trauma theory, creative expression, and cognitive behavioral techniques to help people of any gender or sexual identity achieve their life goals. Jennifer is also a warrior for self-care and believes that it is crucial for all beings to thrive. Want to pay by check?
