      2019 FRC Jumpstart NE Conference

      FIRST community, teams and mentors come together to help jumpstart early stage teams through a day of free informative sessions and hands on workshops. FIRST Robotics Competition (FRC) Team 501 - The PowerKnights Robotics Team - and a coalition of FIRST NH senior mentors, inspectors, and judges, today announced the creation of the 2019 FRC Jumpstart NE conference - an event targeted at bringing together veteran New England FIRST Robotics teams to assist and provide guidance for early stage teams. The event will give teams an opportunity to learn valuable lessons around all aspects of robot design and build, programming, team operations, fundraising/budgeting, and more; meet other rookie and veteran teams; and enjoy a day of sessions intended to "Jumpstart" their FRC experience. Sessions will be held for both students and mentors ensuring everyone will be able to participate and improve their knowledge, regardless of skills and interests. Sessions will include all attendee talks, student and/or mentor focused classes, hands-on workshops, and a beginner friendly hackathon. All sessions will be taught by a phenomenal volunteer crew made up of veteran teams, professionals, and educators around New England. Participating in FRC Jumpstart FRC Jumpstart will take place on Saturday, November 2nd at Southern New Hampshire University (SNHU) in Manchester, NH. Sessions will be held in multiple classrooms around SNHU's central buildings, with the central gathering place being Robert Frost Hall's Walker Auditorium and will be free of charge to early stage teams. About the Event Organizers FRC Jumpstart has been organized by group of dedicated FIRST Mentors, Alumni and Students that bring together a coalition of  SNHU Staff, FIRST NH Members and Team 501 - The PowerKnights Robotics Team. This includes Dan Headley (NEFIRST Inspector / SNHU Staff);  FIRST NH team members - Jillian Bejtlich (FIRST Alumni and FIRST NH Planning Committee member), Frank Grossman (FIRST NH Director), and Ken St. Hilaire (FIRST NH Senior Mentor) along with FRC Team 501 - The PowerKnights Robotics Team, including Josh Heger (501 Alumni/Mentor);  Patrick Steger (Mentor) and Isabelle Steger (Student/VP of Outreach).   FAQs   Is there a  minimum age requirements to enter the event?  Age restrictions? This event is open to all FRC Team mentors, members and parents.   There is a release (SNHU Release Minors Day Programs with Outside Sponsors Form) for all youth attendees under the age of 18.  Everyone under 18 is required to have parent./guardian fill out this form and return ahead of time (No later than OCT 30th) to frcjumpstart@powerknights.com.     How can I contact the organizer with any questions? There are no refunds, as there s no cost to attend the event.   We will accept donations to offset the cost of the event and materials, if you so choose.   Do I have to bring my printed ticket to the event? No.  Registering for the event is a means to help us understand the # of people interested in each track so we can properly assign sessions to rooms that will fit the registered audience.  We do have a limited # of spaces, so we ask that you cancel any registration that you no longer need so other teams / students / mentors can attend.   Can I update my registration information? Yes. please try and keep your registration up to date.  will will confirm with each team the total # of mentors/students and confirm receipt of the release forms based on your registration.
