The Breast and Prostate Cancer Peer Education Program is part of a state-wide effort using local, peer educators to speak with men and women in their communities about breast and prostate cancer. Supported with funds by the New York State Health Department, this education initiative aims to help women better understand the need for regular breast cancer screening, and access screening if appropriate, and educate men about prostate cancer and encourage them to speak to their healthcare provider.
