Searching for Danish Ancestors- topic of Genealogy Society Meeting

Iowa City Genealogical Society member, Michele McNabb, gave lots of beneficial Danish genealogical research tips in her May program. She is going to share more reasons why Danish research is rewarding now that many key Danish documents are online. What records should researchers explore first to determine where to search for emigration, census, church records and other important documents. Michele will answer those questions and share information about key websites.

Michele has a Master’s degree in Scandinavian Languages and Literature, and a Master’s degree in Library Information Science, specializing in genealogical and local history librarianship. From 2002 until
2016, she was the manager and principal researcher at the Genealogy Center of the Museum of Danish America in Elkhorn, Iowa.

The September 28th meeting will begin at 9:30 AM, at the LDS Family History Center, at 2730 Bradford Drive, Iowa City. Enter from the east parking lot. Non-members are welcome.
