      Wine & Wisdom Lecture

Thorn Hill Vineyard's Wine & Wisdom Lecture
Tuesday, October 22nd from 5:30 pm to 7 pm

Topic: Postmodernism’s Impact on Society, Globalism and
      the 2020 Presidential Race

Join Thorn Hill Vineyards WINEMAKER Amy Thorn as she hosts
Lee Barret, Chair in Theology, and Professor of Systematic Theology of the Lancaster theological seminary for fine wine and a philosophical discussion!

The concept “postmodernism” has popped up in the discourse of our presidential race in a variety of confusing ways, sometimes as a term of praise and sometimes as a term of condemnation. For some candidates and pundits it suggests a denial of objective truth and an embrace of the idea that everything is a matter of interpretation. For other candidates and commentators it points to a robust multiculturalism that could either be an attractive societal cross-fertilization or a repugnant erosion of national identity. We will sort out the many ways that “postmodernism” and related concepts are being used in the presidential race, and explore the potential pro’s and con’s of these forms of political speech.

      Light appetizers will be served.
