Home Care Needs for Senior Citizens Addressed

Millbrook at Home’s mission is to help seniors stay safe, happy and comfortable in their homes as they age. Sometimes that means that additional help is needed to care for ourselves and/or our loved ones. At the same time, the number of care workers may not be adequate for the demand as the population gets older.

The New York Caring Majority seeks to build a sustainable and just care infrastructure that makes it possible for seniors and their families to access and afford home care while also supporting the caregivers whose work allows seniors and people with disabilities to live healthy and independent lives.

Please join us as we learn more about this organization’s efforts and the growing need for care workers, the status of care workers in the workforce, and efforts to make this situation beneficial for all. On Wednesday, December 11, the New York Caring Majority will show a short film highlighting the lives of several senior citizens and their caregivers as they work and care for each other. Discussion will follow with a panel of local experts.

This presentation and discussion will be held in the Parish Hall of Grace Episcopal Church, 3328 Franklin Avenue, Millbrook, NY. Please contact connect@millbrookathome.org if you have questions.
