Sisters Sophia and Isabella Madrigal, identified the lack of native voices in that arts and so they chose to research and compile traditional Cahuilla stories, identifying their importance and role in bringing awareness to the global epidemic of missing and murdered Indigenous women and girls. Isabella Madrigal wrote an original play, and the sisters will continue to bring this original play, Menil and Her Heart, up and down the state of California throughout the course of this year and next, bringing together tribal members and mainstream participants, regardless of their acting background. Following the play there will be talk backs with Sophia, Isabella, a guest speaker, and a moderator to spark discussion on the taking of culture, land, and women. Ticket - $0.00
