      Joshua Bledsoe Faculty Trombone Recital

The University of West Florida Department of Music presents Joshua Bledsoe, adjunct instructor of trombone and euphonium, in a faculty recital. The performance will take place on Oct. 28 at 7:30 p.m. in the Music Hall at the Center for Fine and Performing Arts, building 82, on the Pensacola campus.

Bledsoe will present a program of "Stolen Works." The majority of the pieces presented were composed for other instruments. Notable pieces include Gershwin's "Three Preludes" originally for piano, Nielsen's "Two Fantasy Pieces" for oboe and Bartok's "Hungarian Dances" for violin. The recital will end with "Blue Bells of Scotland" by Arthur Pryor which was originally for trombone. Even thieves own things of their own.

Described as a “great young brass virtuoso”, Bledsoe has performed in concert venues across the country. As a member of the internationally renowned touring brass ensemble Presidio Brass, Bledsoe has presented concerts in 48 states and given clinics at some of the most prestigious institutions in the country. He spends his summers as Principal Trombone of the Missouri Symphony Orchestra, a position he has held since 2011. In his free time, he enjoys photography and videography as well as spending time with his wife and daughter.
