      First Annual Lecture and Book Signing

      Noted author and playwright Calvin Ramsey will discuss the creation and history of "The Negro Motorist Green Book", a travel guide for African Americans during the Jim Crow Period. Among his books and plays, Calvin Ramsey has written a popular children's book, "Ruth and the Green Book", as well as a play called "The Green Book". The Film Green Book, about the true story of a black pianist and his white chauffeur, was released in 2018 and received three Academy Awards, including Best Picture. 7:00 PM Doors7:30 PM LectureReception & Book Signing as part of the event.
