      The Native Experience

      Suggested for 3rd grade and up - 4 hour program
      ​Pricing is $12-20 per person for day trip bookings with a 20 student minimum.
      Pricing is $25/student and $12/adult for open sign up days with no group minimum requirement.
      Children 3 and under are free to accompany.
      Discounts for student groups of 100 or more!

      Group Coordinator and immediate family are invited to attend for free (up to $100 value) with a 20 student minimum
      or you can choose to receive a $100 gift certificate for personal use to another event as a thank you for booking with us!

      Learn about the cultures of the native tribes in the surrounding area, including the peoples that dwelt on the property of Fort Cross many moons ago! Among them are the Kumeyaay-Diegueño-Ipay-Tipay, Cahuilla, Mojave, Cupeño, and Luiseño tribes.
      Walk the land and learn their ways!

      Pottery: Create a pinch pot or coil pot. Yours to keep!

      Archery: We're going to have to get you ready if you're going to hunt your dinner! We'll teach you the proper techniques!

      Tomahawk Throwing: A common tool for the natives, but we will be using these little axes for some fun target practice!

      Spear Toss: It takes great precision and strength to hit your target with a spear. We will be practicing with long sticks instead of sharpened spears.

      Native Village: Wikkiup building with Yucca Weaving, corn grinding, and hide identification.

      Jewelry Making: Make a bead necklace to take home!

      Nature Walk: Learn about the the plant and animal life in our area of California. Find out their uses and how to identify them!

      Gardening: Learn about a common planting technique that the natives would use while you tend the garden. You'll be able to take home your own seedling to start a garden of your own!
