2019 CASI Conference- Focus on PRC Space

Join for the 2nd Annual CASI Conference focused on PRC Space.   CASI's mission is to advance understanding of China's aerospace forces in support of the Secretary, Chief of Staff, and other senior leaders of the U.S. Air Force (USAF). CASI provides a single point of contact for critical Mandarin language-capable, expert research and analysis supporting decision and policy makers in the Department of Defense and across the U.S. government regarding the Chinese aerospace problem set. In order to accomplish this mission, CASI conducts an aggressive program of research, education, and outreach. This annual conference functions as the focal point to bring the year’s efforts together and present them to a broad audience. Join us and the community of practice for the discussion! Additional information: Attendance is free and registration is open to all. Uniform is business attire or uniform of the day. There are multiple parking lots available outside of the venue, however, other large events are taking place in the vicinity at the same time; arrive early to ensure close parking or expect a short walk to the venue and plan some extra time in. The event is at Maxwell Air Force Base, and the perimeter is access controlled via CAC. If you do not have access, not to worry! Contact us and we will send you the vetting form you will need to get in. Non-U.S. citizens will require some additional coordination on our part, so please contact us early in order to ensure smooth access on the day of the event.  Also, if you are not a CAC-holder plan some extra time into your schedule to navigate security that morning just in case. Ensure you enter through the Maxwell Blvd Gate, which is open 24/7. Once you enter the LeMay Center building 1400a, signs will direct you to the event and there will be a table to check-in. You have several options for arrival airports.  If you fly directly into the Montgomery Airport, it will be the easiest for you, however, it may be more expensive due to being small.  Other feasible options are the Birmingham Airport (about 1.5 hour drive away depending on traffic) or the Atlanta airport (about 2 hour drive away depending on traffic--please note there is a time change between Atlanta and Montgomery by one hour due to different time zones and factor that into your travel time).  There are plenty of great lodging options in Montgomery, particularly in the downtown area, which is also home to many good dining options within walking distance.  If you are planning to attend the conference, we suggest you book lodging as early as possible due to other events taking place at the base during this time.  Many of the government rate rooms may be already occupied due to these other events if you delay. For additional travel information, directions, lodging recommendations, or any other questions related to the event, please do not hesitate to contact me at Once you have registered, please expect to get a follow-up email from me with some additional registration questions.
