      The 13th Annual Chester County Balloon Festival

      Join us June 21st-23rd for the 13th Annual Chester County Balloon Festival! Balloons, great local food, beer, wine, and Fireworks! Fun for all ages. The 13th Annual Chester County Balloon Festival, always the weekend following Father's Day, is a three-day event taking place Friday, June 21st through Sunday, June 23th at the New Garden Flying Field, in historic Southern Chester County near Kennett Square. This rain-or-shine event features: mass balloon launches special balloon shapes great food vendors local-crafted beer and wine gardens kid zone and zip lines fire truck parade monster truck and helicopter rides live entertainment While every year we add new activities, great local food vendors, crafts, and entertainment, the colorful balloons are still our showstopper! Our three-day event includes evening mass balloon launches of 25 hot air balloons and evening balloon glows, including 3 new and exciting special shape balloons (weather/safety pending)! Some balloons may surprise the crowd and fly into the event itself. The popular Balloon Glow Show will start just before dusk on Friday and Saturday (weather/safety pending). Come out to watch or come out to fly in our beautiful balloons! Flights will be available Friday evening and twice a day Saturday and Sunday (sunrise and 2.5 hours before sunset). While flights can be purchased on-site, it is highly recommended that you purchase in advance as a sell-out is expected. Tethered balloon flights will available during the event (weather permitting), as well as the opportunity to walk into a balloon - a total bucket-list selfie! Just picture the family with the colorful balloon as a breathtaking background! What to Expect Throughout the Weekend: Back by popular demand is the Balloon History Pop Up Museum, focused on the longtime love affair with ballooning in this the DelVal area, where visitors can meet and greet with some well-known local pilots. The ever-popular Kids Zone will be open again with bungee jumpers, knocker ball, bounce houses, and carnival style games. NEW THIS YEAR! The Franklin Institute Traveling Science Show will be onsite to wow and astonish your children with their special workshops about space travel, and some of the basic sciences behind ballooning (don't worry the kids will be so entertained they will not know they are learning)! The power paragliders are back and will allow kids and adults alike to practice kiting at their booth.  Brandywine Harley Davidson (Hannum's) will be on site with their motorcycle experience - giving you a thrill and the feeling of the wind in your hair! Expect lots of local crafts, featuring one-of-a-kind crafts, handmade jewelry, clothing and more. Reps from local home services will be on hand featuring displays, trinkets, and games with prizes for visitors. If you’re a live music fan, be sure to check out the main stage in the Beer and Wine Garden, featuring our own local talent from bands like Half Past Seven, Bob Croce and more. We are very proud to have South Coatesville Police Cheif, Kevin Peirce, croon our national anthem opening the Friday night event! We are also very proud to have the Outside Unlimited sponsor the beautiful flowered garden seating area up close to the balloon viewing area, bucking bronco, and zip line experience.
