      Coordinated by the College of Education’s James F. Ackerman Center for Democratic Citizenship, Constitution Day at Purdue University strives to educate students and community members about the Constitution and citizenship both historically and as they apply to today’s challenges.

      This year’s Constitution Day will take place in:
      Purdue Memorial Union, Room 118

      CONSTITUTION SWAG:

      • Pocket-sized copies of the Constitution
      • Drawing for valuable Purdue merchandise

      • Other unique gifts

      BOOTHS AND ACTIVITIES::
      • Constitution Quiz-Off
      Students and celebrities will test their knowledge of the Constitution in a Jeapordy- style quiz show in the Great Hall
      o 10:30 am ROTC or Student Quiz Off
      o 11:30 am ROTC or Student Quiz Off
      o 12:30 pm Celebrity Quiz Off with Lafayette, West Lafayette and Purdue community leaders
      • Interactive Exhibits
      Multimedia exhibits will provide opportunities to learn about many facets of the Constitution. The more activities you do, the more chances you have to win prizes!
      Activities such as:
      o iCivics
      Online interactive games. Participate in a simulated Supreme Court hearing and run your Constitutional Law Firm! iCivics is a web-based education project design to teach civics and inspire to be active participant in U.S. democracy.
      o Purdue University Libraries’ ‘Banned Book’ Exhibit
      Students can see how the First Amendment impacts their lives through this display of books that have been (or remain) censored. Information on censorship and important censorship cases will also be displayed.
      o America Rock® “The Preamble”
      Watch this classic cartoon treatment of the events leading up to the signing of the Constitution and sing along to the familiar lyrics.
